Fashion templates are an excellent starting point for your creativity, saving time and energy that can be redirected to designing and illustrating. First, we’ll explore pre-made fashion templates from companies like Prêt-à-Template. We’ll demonstrate how to find, save, resize, adapt, and prepare them for use in our leggings fashion illustrations.
Important Update: Since this tutorial was made, Pret-a-template no longer offers free fashion templates to download from their website. We have an alternative though. Use this link to download our own Proportionate model template to use with this course.
Sketching the Perfect Leggings Outline
Next, we’ll focus on creating a leggings outline that can be printed off and used repeatedly for future fashion designs. Using the model template as a base, we’ll trace the leggings outline with the pen tool in Adobe Illustrator.
