Rebecca Oburotha is a sewing enthusiast and influencer who lives in the United Kingdom and started sewing at age 16. Ankara Rack was born out of the need to help sewists like her succeed with their sewing projects. Her online work, particularly Instagram, is a hub for anyone who wants to get their ‘sewjo’ back! This includes weekly sewing quizzes, new sewing projects, garment construction techniques and tips to creating engaging digital content.
Her vision is to grow a community of sewists and help them understand how digital patterns work and to create personalised blocks to achieve their dream, sustainable wardrobe.
Over the last 10 years Rebecca has worn many other hats, including project management and planning space. She is also a STEM ambassador and an avid follower of the Great British Sewing Bee Series.
She is currently researching about the use of projectors in cutting digital patterns to help sewers save time in the garment construction process.
Rebecca is married with two beautiful girls.
